SWARTHY SKIPPER & RUSH ROSE (Nastra iherminier & Lygodesmia aphylla)

This freshly emerged swarthy skipper could not wait for this rush rose to open and get at its nutritious nectar. As the flower was slowly opening in the morning sun, the skipper impatiently probed its unfurled proboscis in hopes of finding a way into the yet-opened flower.
